Removable Baggage Compartment Closure Panels
I decided to install the optional baggage compartment closure panels. Because I want to occasionally inspect behind the panels, I decided to make mine removable. Each panel is held at the top by one bolt that screws into a nut plate, mounted on the bulkhead behind it. The bottom of the panels just slip into a 3-piece metal sandwich rivet to the bulkhead. The 3-piece sandwich is about 1/8" smaller than the actual width, so the closure panel's flanges can slide down the outside of the assembly. I made the middle piece out of .032" metal, so the .025" closure panels can slide into the assembly.
