Re: 51% Rule Canada
FAA order 8130.2 contains a checklist form (FAA form 8800-38) that a MIDO is to use for evaluation of a kit for compliance to the 51% rule. It is my understanding that if a kit is evaluated and approved on the FAA list, then Canada accepts it as well. Here is a link to the order:
http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guida ... enDocument
You could use this form to help assure yourself that the kit is compliant (based on experience, I am sure that it is) and also give your MIDO equivalent a leg up when you present your project to him.

Hi, quote the same type of contact with my local MDRA, friendly and very helpful.
For what I read on the kit, I'm sure that the kit will qualify for 51%.
Tank you for your reply.
At this time, any Canadians have order the Panther kit?

Re: 51% Rule Canada
It's been a while, sorry.
I've been busy with a newborn.
I contacted my local MDRA and he said to send in the paperwork for the intent to build. There shouldn't be any problems when building this kit.
Also, my local MDRA has talked to Dan and it seems they are working together to get the aircraft on some type of 51% list.
But (in the meantime), the MDRA said send in the appropriate paperwork and start building the kit! Just don't fully cover any areas that can't be inspected for the pre-cover inspection. Otherwise the skins would have to be removed in order to do the pre-cover inspection.
Hope this helps any fellow Canadians
Also, don't hesitate to contact the MDRA. I called them for the first time and they are a friendly and very helpful bunch of people!

Re: 51% Rule Canada
Hi every one,
I am very interested on the Panther Sport, I contact my local MD-RA inspector and he suggest to filled the 51% inspection form. So I did. And for what I can see, the kit would past the 51% marks.
Does any fellow Canadian had order the kit or contact there MD-RA representative?
I would be interested to get there comment on the subject.
Daniel

Re: 51% Rule Canada
Wow, thanks for the quick reply!
I will contact the MD-RA here in Canada and find out exactly what needs to be done.
Are there other Canadian builders here? If so, what route did you take when building your panther.
Thanks again for the quick reply,
Cheers
