The plastic spacer included does that, and has a plastic washer on the inside of the fuselage to prevent contact. The installation is easy, only difficulty is getting the screw from the sender through the center of the spring. Also don't want to over-tighten the screw, as you can damage the float as the internals can break loose and spin.

As with any spring, over time the spring can take a set, every year or two, you might need to stretch the spring a bit to make good contact, Typically this is once a year or two.

The base at the fuselage has contact point (tinnerman washer), an insulator and center screw that the instrument wire connects to. The wing/tank side has a flashlight spring that is held in place by the fuel sender sensors screw. When the wing is pushed into the fuselage they align and make contact.

Fuel Sender Quick Disconnect Kit

Noticed a "Fuel Sender Quick Disconnect Kit" on the website, can't find anything in the manual about it, doesn't the sender just connect with spade end wire fitting?
