I used 2 tubes for all of the skins that are against the steel, firewall included. But part of that was because I put the skins on at different times and it dried out on me. So I wouldn't buy too much right now if you are only putting on a few skins. But I believe you will need more than one.

How much frame sealant needed?

Post by RonFranck »

I'm about to place an order with Aircraft Spruce and Specialties for some Aerolife single component polyprotech sealant as suggested in the builder's manual for use where the fuselage skins attach to the chrome-moly framework. Each tube of sealant contains about 5 oz. of sealant. Will one tube be sufficient or do I need to order multiple tubes? :?:
I assume it is used on all exterior skins, bottom, both L and R sides and possibly the firewall, or is it not suitable or needed for the firewall?
Thanks!
