Scott, been using the DIENQ dies and a reamer after dimpling. I really like the fit and saves the updrill to #30. Like the process!

I have been using a reamer after the dimpling and deburing with DIENQ. Not really saving me any steps but it makes for a good snug fit that is always flush.

Rick,

You probably have read this, but just in case, here is the link:

https://flywithspa.com/dimpling-for-flu ... te-solved/

I am also trying to find that magical drill, debur, dimple procedure so that rivets fit and another updrill is not required. I think the key is how the deburring process is done. Type of debur tool and how agressively its used.

Let me know if you find the magic trick!

Agree, also have a DIENQ, after dimpling with it about 90% of the time the hole is not increased to #30 and have to updrill anyhow. So you can either drill #40, dimple, updrill #30 or drill #40, drill #30 and dimple.

I tried the Cleaveland Tool DIENQ dimple dies that use a #40 pilot in forming a 120 degree, #30 dimple. They performed well on the rudder skin, but I prefer to employ a different technique. Thus I offer for sale the two-piece set for $40 ($55 new). Please PM or email me. Payment will be through PayPal with shipping via first class mail.

Thanks, Bruce
