Good question. I had the same debate with myself and decided to leave everything clecko'd while I did the #40 skin match drilling. That's done and I'm thinking that I want to rivet all the ribs that I can now before I up drill to #30 and dimple. I'd rather not take a chance of even a slight shift if I held off and riveted after the dimpling is done. Can't do ribs 1-5 to rear spar or the brackets on rib 9, though, because that would interfere with dimpling.

When to rivet wing rib structure

Post by Jinkers »

I have my first wing ready to skin with everything clecko'd and temp bolts in the 1-8 rib stiffener angles. I am debating weather to rivet everything except the 1-5 rib attachments to the rear spar or skin it and then rivet it just before riveting the skins on. What order have others been doing this in?

Thanks,
