Ron
Thread sealant is not needed on the fuel pickup tubing nut threads. Just tighten nut and install the anti rotate bracket for the fuel pickup tubing nut.
There are torque specs for tubing fitting avaiable on the internet.
Be sure your fuel pickup fitting and vent fitting are prosealed were they go though the fuel tank end rib. I have some fuel tank build pictures on my kitlog website.

Fuel pickup - tread sealer needed?

While working on my fuel tanks a question or two has come up that I'm unsure about.
Is there any need for tread sealer between the nut and the fitting inside the tank when installing the fuel pick-up tube?
My flare on the tube looks very good and that's where the actual sealing takes place so
aside from acting a bit like tread-loc I don't see an advantage to using a paste type sealer.
If I do need a sealer what brand resists the fuel?
Final question, is there any torque specification used on these fittings?
Thanks,
