Used the $99 Harbor Freight engine hoist to hang a Corvair on my Pietenpol project (several times), works great and can be partly disassembled/assembled fairly easily for transport.

Look on Craigslist. I have bought the sold 3 hoists over the years, generally around $50. Buy them for a project and sell when done so I don't have to find a place to store it for years until I need one again.

They work great. Legs fold up for easy storage. $99 is bargain.

Black Friday Sale at HF

I'm getting closer to hanging an engine on my project. I have a Continental O-200, but the Jabiru 3300 is tempting. Regardless of what engine I use, I'm going to need a way to hang it. Harbor Freight is going to sell a one ton foldable shop crane on Black Friday for $99.99. I tried to upload a picture of the add, but I can't post it here because the file is to big. The item numbers are 69512, 61858 or 69445.
