Rick
We have had two upper wing skins that had areas that were deformed, or stretched that caused oil canning that was unacceptable. Please call me and we can see if you possibly have a bad skin

Oil can wing skin
Have my left wing skins drilled and clecoed. Inner skins and bottom outside skins no problem, but the top outer skin is oil canning between a couple bays between ribs. After researching this on the Vans and other forums here are the main responses:
1) It's an aluminum aircraft, if you want an aircraft without oil canning build a Lancair.
2) Just rivet it, it will be ok.
3) Heat up the skin before riveting (the skins will shrink a little after cooling and everything will be fine).
4) Make a few 1/2" x 1/2" L channels (.016 aluminum) and attach them inside the skin with 3M double sided foam tape (or Proseal) between the ribs.
Anyone encountered this? Nothing related to the Panter kit specifically, happens a lot with Vans/Zenith/Sonics kits if you believe the forums.
