https://picasaweb.google.com/tonyboytoo/Fuselage# photos 70-74 show how to do it. $17 vice from HF is a very handy shop tool to have in your collection.

And don't forget the 6" wheel will add almost 2 lbs as far aft as it's possible to get. Would be a good fit with a Lycoming :D

I used the same tail wheel on my KR for many years and had great success with it. In fact, if the one that SPA is selling were not that tail wheel, I would be buying it from Aviation Products. The one I used is 4" and unless you plan to fly off a rough surface, a lot, I think that is the only choice.

I had SPA drill mine because I don't possess the skills or the tools to do that kind of machine work and get it perfect.

We have them in stock now, just received a whole batch back from the powder-coater last week. You need to decide if you want us to drill the tail wheel socket and spring for you or if you want to do that yourself. If you are going to drill it your self then I will mail you one this week. You can see the options for this here:
http://flywithspa.com/?p=376
and you need to choose your tail wheel size. 4" or 6". Recommended LSA size is 4".
Other builders chime in here on your recommendations.

And Just FYI - for questions regarding part delivery and availability please send an email to support@flywithspa.com, this way we can make sure you get a prompt response.

Well, after further examination of my packing list, I see that that part is back ordered.

Rachel.....any clue on the timeline for this?

Thanks!

Tail wheel spring mount P6601

Post by Seansull »

Hi Everyone,

I have building furiously on my tail cone this weekend when I hit my first roadblock. I am page 38 paragraph 1.10 of the builders manual. I have examined all of my parts and I'm unable to find part P6601 (the tail wheel spring mount).

I am assuming that this part is not included in the kit, however I don't see this part offered on the website unless it's included with the tail wheel assembly purchase (but, I don't think so). Could someone who has already traveled this path please shed some light on this for me?

It appears there are a couple of items I can work on while tracking down this part. Do I need this before I can go much further.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Sean
