Do you have any photos to share of the bird?

Nothing to report, the first aircraft is bogged down, still waiting on the composite canopy skirt and the 0-320 cowl. We hope it flies first quarter 2015... only a year behind schedule....

Rick,

The rear spar attach point is drilled when the wings are fitted to the fuselage. Most likely there would be minor variations from wing to wing. Also, Bob didn't build his wings with the fold option. That means his aileron pushrods are in a different location than on the prototype.

Think it would also be interesting sometime in the future to see how Bobs 320 Panther does with the prototype (long) wings. I assume the short and long wings would be interchangeable?

Haha Ok I would appreciate that, tell him no pressure but just a little anxious. :) I would like to pull the trigger on the sport model but I want to see some flight test data on how the total package with the clipped wings and bigger engine is working out.

No significant updates - Bob is waiting on us to give him his fuselage back. We have been test fitting skins and controls to it.
Once we release it there will be the majority of an airplane together very quickly. Then the wiring and rigging will take some time. The cowling will be a solid three weeks of fabrication as well.
No builders log - Bob and the internet are not intimate friends. Don't worry though - as soon as he has something note worthy I will go down there myself and get photos and do a blog post about it.

Any updates with Bob's Woolley's plane? Does he have a builders log?

Bob Woolley is close to getting his flying - we will have numbers from his with the 0-320 soon.

Sport wing

Post by Adam Wright »

When are we going to see some actual flight test data of the sport wing? Why not put a sport wing on the prototype? Ill volunteer to build a wing if I can have it back when your done! ;) I am curious how real world numbers LSA vs Sport, specifically roll rate, lightness of controls, stall and spin characteristics. Thanks!
