Re: fitting factory built tanks
resolution from Dan, carefully remove excess sealer with abrasive disk or razor blade. To avoid this, put line of tape 1/8 in. aft of rivet line before sealer application, then remove tape before sealer sets.

fitting factory built tanks
Having a small issue with fitting pre-built tanks. Sealer on aft fuel tank rivets (inside) extends on average 1/2" radially from rivets. Therefore, sealer rests on spar and will not allow tank to travel far enough aft for good fit. Need to remove about 3/16 " of this sealer on aft side of rivets for good fit. Is there an acceptable method for doing so or another fix. Don't want to cause a leak. Tank brackets on spar have been trimmed and fit fine. All other skin fitting is great.
